Very often, an LCD panel or module will need one or more enhancements to fit your needs, depending on the type of product you are building and the environment in which it will operate.

Special Surfaces
The final surface applied to your LCD module or cover glass can add a great deal of utility. Macnica can apply:
- Anti-glare surfaces to improve brightness and contrast
- Anti-reflective coatings to minimize reflections
- Anti-glare/anti-reflective films for glare and reflection
- Anti-bacterial and anti-viral coatings and films, to enhance the safety of touch screen users, especially during the Covid-19 pandemic

Custom and Semi-Custom Backlights
Macnica can design and fabricate a complete backlight solution for an off-the-shelf LCD panel or modify the backlight on many modules to provide:

IP67 and IP68 Waterproofing
Macnica can help you design and fabricate water and dust-proof housings to meet IP67 or IP68 ratings.
IP or Ingress Protection ratings are defined in international standard EN 60529. They are used to define levels of sealing effectiveness of electrical enclosures against intrusion from foreign bodies and moisture.
Optical Bonding
Macnica can bond touch screen components, special films and cover glass to you LCD panel, using any of these automated processes:
- OCR, or wet bonding, with optically clear resin
- OCA, or dry bonding, with optically clear adhesive
- Air Gap, using double-sided tape
